Since 2018, the Chichibu Paris series has explored the ties between France and Japan through exclusive blends inspired by iconic figures and heritage. The 2026 vintage pays tribute to Claude Monet on the centenary of his death. A major figure of Impressionism, the painter maintained a close relationship with Japan: passionate about Japanese prints, he had a bridge built in his garden at Giverny inspired by Japanese architecture, which he continually depicted, capturing its variations throughout the seasons and the changing light. This edition features six labels inspired by his iconic works, from the Japanese Bridge to Water Lilies. Chichibu Paris Edition 2026 is the result of a blend of first-fill and second-fill bourbon casks, hogsheads that previously contained Oloroso sherry, and virgin American white oak casks, ranging in age from six to twelve years. With an approachability that immediately won us over, its aromatic and flavor palette boasts a perfectly balanced profile. This desire to get straight to the essence highlights the hard work and talent of master blender Ichiro Akuto, the founder of the distillery.
