The Bunnahabhain distillery is unique in that it produces two types of single malt, one peated, with a phenol content of between 35 and 45 ppm, accounting for 45% of its annual production, and the other unpeated. In the second category, this version selected for the 20th anniversary of Whisky Live Paris, bottled at natural strength and aged in oloroso sherry casks, is literally spellbinding. The three stages of tasting are intimately interlinked, creating a particularly shimmering array of aromas and flavours, with the many nooks and crannies teeming with treasures, just like the empty glass, rich in spices and medicinal notes.

Color : acajou.

Nose : both lively and smooth. Remarkably deep and elegant, the aromatic palette reveals scents of malted barley of great purity. All around these cereal notes are scents of sandalwood, roasted chestnut, hawthorn, pumpkin, cocoa, bay leaf, turmeric...

Palate : full-bodied and racy. Closely linked to the nose, the range of flavours on offer includes gourmet delights (coffee éclair, prune flan, mocha) that are impossible to resist. Then, flavours of walnut stain, pipe tobacco and beeswax rub shoulders with chromatic nuances of burnt sienna.

Overall : long, full-bodied. On the palate, the tasting continues with the appearance of numerous red and black fruits (strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry). Resinous (pine, cedar), roasted, oily (black olive), the palate takes more herbaceous paths (malted barley, alfalfa) and heady (iris concrete).
