Made from Optic barley grown at Mid-Coul Farm, near Dalcross in Inverness-shire, this single cask embodies Bruichladdich’s pure philosophy: to reveal the unique character of each terroir, grain by grain, field by field. Transported to Islay after harvest, distilled, and then aged by the sea, it embodies the rare encounter between the soil of the Highlands and the salty influence of the Atlantic winds.

Nose : A refined bouquet, where the noble Tronçais oak intertwines with the natural sweetness of the malt: light honey, ripe yellow fruits, and warm biscuit. As it breathes, a subtle sea breeze emerges - a hallmark of aging on Islay - bringing freshness and aromatic tension.

Palate : Rich, textured, and driven by controlled power. Candied fruit and fresh vanilla meet the gentle spices of French oak. The malty heart - a legacy of Mid-Coul’s Optic barley - comes through in full: crisp grain, hazelnut, and golden shortbread. A hint of salt adds structure to the whole and prolongs the indulgent experience.

Overall : Long, deep, and evolving. Tronçais oak leaves a silky impression, intertwined with hints of light cocoa, dried fruit, and an elegant maritime minerality.
