This Benrinnes was distilled in 2006 and aged for over 19 years in a hogshead cask. Only 247 bottles were produced from this cask. Each edition is carefully selected from Elixir Distillers' casks from Scotland's six whisky-producing regions. Only casks considered to have achieved the required quality and character will be bottled under the name The Single Malts of Scotland. To ensure that each of these whiskies retains its aromas and character, they are not chill-filtered and no colouring is added.
Nose : Aromas of dried fruit, a hint of honey and sweet spices. Light woodiness and orange peel.
Palate : Powerful but well balanced. Dried fruit, raisins, prunes, a sweetness of vanilla and caramel, and a hint of pepper.
Overall : Long and warm, with a lovely persistence of spices and honey.
