AMAHAGAN Edition No 5 Sherry Cask Finish

The blended malt series « AMAHAGAN »is created with a focus on “blending”, which is the most important process for whisky making. This whisky, which is the 5th in the series, has been matured in sherry cask that has been enjoyed all over the world for a long time. Please discover its mellow and gorgeous flavor. Nagahama is the smallest distillery in Japan. Launched in 2016, the Nagahama distillery is one of these new emerging distilleries in Japan. It is installed on the site of the Nagahama Roman Brewery, created in 1996. The distillery has a direct connection to the waters of Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan whose source is Mount Ibuki. Its authentic peculiarity resides in its still: the smallest still in Japan called aranbic for its shape reminiscent of Arab architecture, in a 26m2 room. The small alembic pot stills has very narrow line arms, therefore the newmake spirit have rich and malty character. Single malts coming from the distillery are called “Nagahama”. Reading it from right to left we have the name of their blended whiskies named “Amahagan”!
