Peatier in character than Terrocita, Vilanova Argile is marked by iodine, salt and smoke notes.
The peat is nonetheless balanced by highly malty flavors and a bouquet of fruits, notably red, characteristic of the red wine casks used.
Intense and complex, Vilanova Argile offers a fine proposition for lovers of great peated whiskies, without forgetting the finesse characteristic of the Castan distillery. A wonderful discovery!
Heavily Peated
Nose : Peaty and maritime. Frankly peaty, with powerful notes of iodine, hearth (smoke) and brewed malt.
Palate : Lively and full-bodied. Great presence on the palate, very fruity (red fruits), with an unusual saline touch on the finish.
Overall : Strong and smoky. The aromatic strength of the nose is echoed in the retro olfaction.
