PLANTERAY RUM 20 ans 2004 Barbade Foundations

Nose : rich, unctuous. At once apricot, powdery (rice), caramelized and spicy (ginger), the aromatic palette is gradually enveloped by heady scents of geranium flower and tonka bean. This olfactory ensemble is in turn enveloped by scents of lily and essential oils (lavender, violet).

Appearance : or soutenu.

Palate : ample, gourmand. With the same fruity, floral structure as the nose, the palette is also marked by flavors of precious woods, candied ginger and chocolate. Exotic (mango, guava), it gradually becomes rooty (ginseng) and oriental (wilted rose).

Overall : long, silky. Continuing on the palate, a delicious mango coulis completely coats the taste buds. Then Tonka beans make their exquisite comeback. Finally, cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg and grated ginger add spice to a finely tannic retro olfaction.
