The first Penderyn distillery was opened in 2000, in the Brecon Beacons park. Originally equipped with two stills designed by David Faraday to produce a 90% proof distillate, it was upgraded in 2014 with two traditional pot stills. In 2017 and 2023, Penderyn will open two new distilleries. Absolutely stunning, this expression perfectly conveys the extravagant yet particularly exotic character of mature Penderyn. To this must be weaved floral and herbaceous layers of unprecedented freshness.

Nose : rich and deep. Rivaling in intensity, vanilla and cashew nut initially take over the olfactory palette. Increasingly floral (lilac, lily of the valley), the aromatic bouquet then takes on elegant exotic (pineapple, banana) and herbaceous (green barley) tones.

Appearance : jaune doré.

Palate : light and lively. Lemony and gardeny (dandelion), the range of flavours is beaming with tranquillity. Gradually, cardamom seeds and infused flavours (green tea, lime blossom) give it a noble character. The finish is indulgent (puffed rice).

Overall : long and well-balanced. Pastry-like (lemon tart) and savoury (courgette fritters), the finish is of infinite finesse. Enhanced by spices (cinnamon, cloves), it becomes over time more verdant (alfalfa, cut hay) and pleasantly chocolate-y.
