In January 2003, Luca Gargano, CEO of Italian bottler Velier, created his first blend from a Cuban rum and a Venezuelan rum seasoned with a touch of Caroni and named Papalin. In 2021, he decided to create a collection of blends inspired by this much-loved release. Featuring two Jamaican rums, this new Papalin is remarkably well-balanced, interlacing vanilla, lemon, spicy and tropical sequences guided by the skillful hand of sugarcane. This very natural palette of flavours and aromas immediately creates a wonderful sensation of fullness and openness.

Nose : Full, unctuous. The aroma palette is both tangy and smooth, revealing a subtle combination of vanilla, lemon, cane sugar, mint and fresh walnut. Allowed to breathe, sweet spices (ginger, cinnamon), tropical fruits (banana) and heady florals (broom, mimosa) bring lots of energy.

Appearance : Jaune doré.

Palate : Well-balanced and smooth. Like the nose, the flavour palette opens with vanilla and lemon. Herbal infusions (rosemary, vervain) then seep deep into the taste buds. This fresh sequence is drawn out by more tropical (pineapple, banana) and liquorice (stick) notes.

Overall : Long, silky. Cane sugar, a delicious tarte tropézienne and lime tart guide us into an abundantly rich finish. With time, it becomes more fibrous (cane) and herbaceous (coriander, chive).
