OLD ORKNEY 25 ans Decadent Drinks

This fourth bottling in the Old Orkney series is a 25-year-old single malt distilled in 1999. After a long maturation in second-fill casks, it spent its last six years in a very old first-fill oloroso sherry cask, ex-bodega. Bottled cask strength, this Orkney single malt offers a profile richly marked by sherry, while preserving the authentic character of the distillery. The aromatic complexity unfolds around earthy, gamey and deep notes, accompanied by a fine peaty smoke, waxes, burlap and savory, salty touches. A refined whisky, a true traditional expression of the Orkney sherry style. Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild – also author of the WhiskySponge blog – is its founder. His philosophy is quality, enjoyment, and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side can be found both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature a sponge character in a variety of guises. These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice, Equilibrium, and NAS.
