This single malt comes from the Glenrothes distillery in Speyside. Distilled in 2012, this small batch spent 10 years maturing in bourbon hogsheads, followed by 2 years in ex-Sherry casks from the Ximénez-Spínola bodega. This distinctive maturation imparts fruity and indulgent aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and cooked apple. The Benchmark series lies at the heart of the Murray McDavid range, offering exceptional single malts that highlight the Art of Maturation. Aged in specially selected casks from around the world, we celebrate characterful single malts, both young and old. Each year, our tasting panel gathers at the Distillery Director’s House at Parkmore to select fine single malts for the Benchmark series.
