All about making whisky
Made in Piedmont, Frangelico is a traditional caramel-coloured liqueur made from a variety of hazelnut called ‘Tonda Gentile’. A favourite among confectioners around the world, these hazelnuts are renowned for their sweetness. Legend has it that the famous monk and painter Fra Angelico distilled hazelnuts in alcohol before infusing the mixture with cocoa, orange blossom and vanilla pods. The concoction is then aged in oak casks. The Frangelico bottle is a tribute to the legend, boasting a design evocative of a monk’s habit cinched in with cord tied at the waist. Whether served neat, on the rocks, in a cocktail or coffee, this liqueur will delight you with its subtle aromas of hazelnut, vanilla and dark chocolate.
