Distilled in 1956, at the height of the Cuban pre-revolution, Hoy Como Ayer is a unique witness to the golden age of rum production in Cuba. It was therefore only natural to adorn this bottle with a self-portrait by Cuban artist Aconcha, born in Havana in 1946, whose work is profoundly influenced by Santería and Afro-Cuban culture. Entitled 'Hoy Como Ayer' – Today as Yesterday, this vibrant and colorful artwork also echoes the song of the same name, performed in the 1956 film No Me Olvides Nunca – Never Forget Me, by one of Cuba’s most iconic voices, celebrated tenor Benny Moré.
