In 2019, to meet ever-growing demand, Ichiro Akuto inaugurated a second distillery named Chichibu #2. With a capacity five times greater than the original distillery founded in 2007—now renamed Chichibu #1—this new facility produces around 260,000 liters of pure alcohol per year. The latest installment in the series, this single cask, glowing with maturity, is a stunning bridge between Japan and Andalusia. Marked by a refined classicism where each note is rendered with rare precision, it displays a particularly vibrant spectrum of orange-toned hues.

Nose : Clean, precise. Aromas of bitter orange, walnut, roasted notes, candied apricot, and precious woods (sandalwood) highlight the noble and complex nature of the aromatic profile. It gradually evolves toward more winey and oxidative tones, reflecting the beautiful influence of Oloroso sherry.

Appearance : Cuivre orangé.

Palate : Full-bodied, deep. Wonderfully powdery (rice, cocoa), the mouthfeel gently transitions into increasingly mature layers—tertiary notes (coffee, Armenian paper), honeyed tones (heather, linden), and warm, resinous accents (incense, beeswax polish, apricot kernel).

Overall : Long, velvety. Flavors of Corinth raisins and dried fig further enhance the deep maturity of the flavor profile, which then invites us to savor licorice stick and inhale beeswax aromas.
