Bobby's Gin represents the meeting of two cultures but, above all, it tells the story of a family, that of Jacobus Alfons, known as "Bobby," born in Naku, Indonesia, and later immigrating to the Netherlands where he created his gin.

In 1950, Jacobus Alfons, known as Bobby, born in Naku, Indonesia, immigrated to the Netherlands and settled in the city of Schiedam, the world capital of juniper, then known as "Dutch Courage." Bobby quickly converted to this drink, but he missed the flavors of his home country. So, he created his own recipe, infusing local alcohol with Indonesian spices. The recipe disappeared with Bobby... until 2012 when his grandson Sebastiaan discovered a bottle in the attic of the family home. He teamed up with the master distiller of the famous Herman Jansen distillery, a master in the art of distilling gin since 1777, to reveal all the secrets of this liquid. In 2014, after 2 years of research, Bobby's Gin Schiedam Dry Gin was born.
