The selected molasses rum is crafted from sugarcane grown between the Andes mountain range, the Orinoco basin, and the Caribbean Sea. It is then aged for 4 years in oak barrels. YEK'WANA showcases the richness of Venezuela by selecting this cocoa bean, as well as the vast Amazonian territory by sourcing tonka beans and vanilla. YEK'WANA takes its name from a people living on the border of Brazil and Venezuela. Their territory has long been exploited by illegal gold miners, causing destruction to the natural resources of the forests and rivers. YEK'WANA highlights the cocoa culture recently initiated in 2019 by this indigenous people. This initiative helps to boost the local economy while rehabilitating the land and protecting the forests.
