You'll come across many stories about the origins of the Manhattan. Its exact paternity is hard to pin down, but one thing is certain: the first published recipe for this cocktail — now a true American icon — appeared in 1884. Traditionally built on rye whiskey, the Travellers Cocktails version is made with Michter's US1 Single Barrel Rye, paired with Cocchi Torino vermouth and Angostura bitters, finished with a touch of Amarena cherries.
