The Real McCoy® Rum is based on the story of Bill McCoy, the pioneer rum runner of the Prohibition era. He was the first to fill a boat with Caribbean rum, sail it up to New York and legally act as a floating liquor store, in international waters, three miles offshore. The Real McCoy range is produced in his honor with the same quality spirit, thanks to Master Distiller Richard Seale from Foursquare distillery. All rums are completely unadulterated, small batch distilled in a rare artisanal combination of copper pot & column stills and tropically aged in Barbados, in heavy charred American Oak Bourbon barrels.
Real McCoy 12 Years is a traditional Barbados rum from the Foursquare distillery. It is small batch crafted rum, with distillates elaborated in copper column and pot stills. It was tropically aged for 12 years in American Oak Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. This version offers a harmonious balance, characterized by bold woody notes complemented by lingering sweet, buttery undertones, accompanied by hints of fruitiness and spice. It leads to a finish enriched with subtle peppery accents.
