SAINT JAMES 1936

A vintage rum from the Saint James distillery, 1936. Saint James is a historic distillery in Martinique. It is particularly remarkable because very old bottlings, dating back as far as 1885, the very first vintage rum ever released by the distillery, can still occasionally be found on the market. Vintages from the 1930s are much harder to come by for several reasons. At the time, aging spirits for long periods was not the trend, and glass bottles were very fragile in the aftermath of the 1929 financial crisis.
