ROCHELT 2017 Abricot

The Wachau is one of Austria’s finest wine and fruit-growing regions. Nestled along the banks of the Danube, its unique soil and climate create ideal conditions for fruit cultivation. Our apricots come exclusively from the Wachau and are sourced from the prized Klosterneuburger and Ungarische Beste varieties. The fruit is only hand-picked once fully ripe — when it falls naturally from the tree — ensuring maximum juiciness and a vibrant orange-yellow color with deep red blushes, and most importantly, a rich, intense aroma. On the very day of harvest, the fruit is cleaned and fermented on site with no additives. The fermented mash is then double-distilled with great care in a traditional copper pot still, following Tyrolean methods. The heart of the distillate is aged for at least seven years in open glass demijohns. This long aging process brings the brandy to full maturity, adding silkiness, smoothness, and depth — while concentrating the expressive aromas of ripe apricot.
