In 2020, Mark Reynier launched the first rums from the Renegade distillery on the island of Grenada. He advocates a unique approach, favouring parcel-by-parcel production and the expression of terroir, and works hand-in-hand with local farms. The first Single Cask to be bottled by Renegade, this rum is made from the Yellow Lady variety of cane harvested in the Dump field, grown by the Westerhall farm. Aged for 32 months in new American oak casks, this rum is extremely smooth. Its range of aromas and flavours combines sweetness, minerality and umami.

Color : Or profond

Nose : Fresh, exotic. Juicy scents of pineapple and lime meet scents of cane juice, followed by fruity notes (sultanas, cranberries, dried apricot), herbaceous (grass) and mineral (dry earth, baked earth).

Palate : Lively and full-bodied. Tonic, the attack is also greedy (almonds, cashew nuts, cranberries). The mid-palate evolves towards herbaceous (liquorice) and spicy (ginger, cardamom) flavours with suavity. Then notes of tomato reveal an umami dimension.

Overall : Firm and generous. Earthy, the finish is also fruity (blackberries, blueberries), mineral (rock), powdery (coffee), praline, subtly salty (salted butter) and spicy (pepper sauce). Then the sugar cane gradually takes over.
