MOUNT GAY Cognac Cask Expression

For the eighth release in the Master Blender collection, Trudiann Branker, Master Blender of Mount Gay, has chosen to highlight the influence of rum aged in the tropics in casks that previously contained cognac. Sharing a long tradition of producing the world's finest spirits, Trudiann turned to the house of Rémy Martin to source its casks. For this limited-edition liquid, Trudiann Branker chose to highlight the subtle fruitiness of traditional column-distilled rums. This complemented the delicate French oak casks which, due to their wide, open grain, confer a rich vanilla flavor. Four years of complete tropical aging in Barbados bring out notes of red stone fruit, cherry, vanilla and caramel. The result is an elegant, fruity blend that unfolds with every sip.
