MARS Duo Tsunuki Akkeshi

This bottling is Mars' second collaboration with another distillery, and features mostly Tsunuki single malt, aged mainly in bourbon casks.

As Tsunuki and Akkeshi were founded in the same year (2016) and share the same ideologies in terms of craft distillery, they have exchanged many times. They subsequently came to the conclusion that they shared a mutual desire to transcend the boundaries of their respective distilleries and explore the different ageing conditions between Kagoshima and Hokkaido, which have extremely different climates. This project also enabled them to improve the skills of their master blender and master distiller respectively, through a little friendly competition. The distance between Mars Tsunuki and Akkeshi is longer than the distance between Paris and Moscow!

This bottling is therefore the embodiment of the aspirations of these two distilleries, far removed from each other, to create a great whisky.
