Located in the heart of the Japanese Alps, the Shinshu distillery was founded in 1985. Idle for a few years, it resumed its activity in 2011. Cosmo is not a single malt but a blended malt composed of course of Mars but also of Scottish single malts. Cosmo refers to the iconic mountain near the Mars Shinshu Distillery. Wonderfully oxidative and outgoing, this one shows great maturity while retaining the fiery spirit of his youth. Great art in blending.

Nose : cherry and pear eau-de-vie give it plenty of elegance on the initial nose. It then becomes sweeter and maltier, with a touch of vanilla.
Palate : young and lively, it showcases its pure, crystalline spirit. A mixture of ripe berries appears alongside freshly cut grass, peppermint and orange blossom,
Overall : long, taut. An abundance of fruit with mirabelle and greengage plums, melon, candied orange and fresh figs followed by fresh mint and a dusting of cocoa powder.
