    Located in the northwest of Jamaica, in the parish of Trelawny, the Long Pond distillery was founded in 1753. It is equipped with two Blair pot stills and three John Dore double-retort pot stills. This version, selected by Velier, features an ester content ranging from 550 to 700 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol, corresponding to the STCE (Simon Thompson Cambridge Estate) category of this distillery’s marks. Exceptionally nuanced, its aromatic and flavour profile is notably driven by intense empyreumatic, medicinal, fruity, and honeyed notes.

    Color : jaune doré soutenu.

    Nose : Outgoing, powerful. Deeply empyreumatic (flambéed banana, petrol, varnish), the aromatic profile is gradually enveloped by medicinal scents (mustard seed, ointment). Upon aeration, sugar, roasted pineapple, bourbon vanilla, and preserved lemon come to the forefront.

    Palate : Both elegant and assertive. Tar-like, mineral (slate), oily (castor), vegetal (agave), and medicinal (mustard plasters), the flavour profile transcends the empyreumatic character of the nose. Then, flavours of flambéed banana, roasted pineapple, and tiger balm deeply coat the palate.

    Overall : Rich, concentrated. Continuously pushing further the empyreumatic, macerated, and heady boundaries of its playground, it is impressively full-bodied and natural. A true oasis of freshness, the retro-olfaction unfolds with honeyed (geranium), infused (sage), citrusy, and juicy (pineapple) sequences.
