LAPHROAIG Triple Wood Litre

This version of the famous Islay has been aged in three types of cask. As with the Quarter Cask, it began its life in American oak casks, previously used for bourbon whiskey. Some of this distillate is then selected and transferred to quarter casks for a second maturation. Finally, it is transferred a second time, this time to casks that have contained oloroso sherry. The result of this triple maturation is a balanced whisky with notes of peat, wood and sherry. After a longer or shorter period - depending on the whisky's needs - it is reduced to 48% and bottled without chill filtering.
