Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other fine spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side can be seen both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings with this sponge character in a wide variety of styles.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice and Equilibrium. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
Tasting notes
Nose : Pure olive bine, peat ash, lemon juice and seawater. Simplistic, naked, raw and insanely pure. A medical tincture injected directly into your nostril!
Palate : Once again all about purity, power, precision and raw ingredient flavours. Yeasty, briny, citric, ashy and robustly smoky.
Overall : Long, extremely salty, full of pickling vinegars, mercurochrome, bonfire ashes and grizzly peat.
Heavily Peated
