This vintage may be the oldest Karuizawa in our 2012 Collection, but it is also the one that seems the most youthful and carefree. It has to be said that ageing in bourbon casks has given free rein to a distillate that was originally forged from the hardest copper. Karuizawa through and through.

Nose : Riche, concentré. Le boisé est superbe (salin, rancio fruité). Le cuir et les agrumes constituent son centre. Sur le pourtour, on trouve des fleurs capiteuses (lavande, chèvrefeuille), des épices (cannelle, cumin). De plus en plus subtil, il trace une ligne droite qui le mène tout droit à l’orge maltée.

Overall : Longue, longue. Place de nouveau aux fleurs capiteuses (pivoine), aux fruits secs (abricot), au safran, à la coriandre, à la cardamome et aux noix fraîches. Le tilleul embaume, juin est arrivé. Le miel se prépare. La rétro olfaction laisse apparaître des feuilles de menthe et de thé. Le fond de verre est crémeux et aérien.
