These provide the perfect conditions to see the Aurora Australis. The word "aurora" is derived from the name of the Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora.
The name Aurora Australis is therefore very apt for this new expression of single malt whisky from Hellyers Road as the distillery enters a new dawn of whisky releases under a new look for the brand. It typifies the ‘unique illumination or shedding of light’, of the distillery’s new releases and direction which parallels perfectly with Hellyers Road’s unique tradition of being bold and pioneering – continually venturing ‘Into the unknown’, highlighting a new whisky horizon.
Like the Aurora Australis, the whisky is illuminating. Delicate flavours of butterscotch and shortbread on the palate are brightly haloed by notes of fresh meadow grasses, pine and sultanas on the nose with a semblance of campfire char.
