    Hellyers Road Distillery sources almost exclusively a variety of barley grown and malted in Tasmania by Joe White Maltings. Derived from a strain named Franklin, this expression has retained the brilliance of its youth while showcasing remarkable maturity and depth. In that sense, it fits perfectly into the lineage of venerable Hellyers Road bottlings selected over the years by La Maison du Whisky. Marked by exoticism and distinguished by its freshness and complexity, its flavour profile particularly stands out for its balsamic and saline character.

    Nose : Both fresh and concentrated. Wrapped in a fine veil of tiger balm, the nose opens with aromas of fruit (pear, pineapple), vanilla, and acacia honey. With aeration, the aromatic palette becomes beautifully herbaceous (cut hay, alfalfa), malty and spicy (grated ginger).

    Appearance : or soutenu.

    Palate : Nuanced, subtle. A mix of liveliness and softness, the flavour profile shows great verticality. Along the way, one finds vanilla, chalky and tangy notes (candied lemon). Perfectly balanced, it gradually becomes gently malty and indulgent (calisson d’Aix).

    Overall : Long, silky. Giving full expression to the exotic character of this superb Hellyers Road (banana, kiwi, lychee), the finish naturally echoes the initial nose. Camphor and cedar notes then add a particularly seductive balsamic and saline dimension.
