This 6-year-old Rhum Vieux, aged in French and American oak barrels, is a historic and rare bottle from Habitation Bellevue. Long reserved for Marie-Galante enthusiasts, it is now available in mainland France in very limited quantities (less than 1,000 numbered decanters per year). Made from a unique blend of agricultural rums and sugar cane, it offers an unrestrained and intense style. Unconstrained by the “Rhum Agricole” appellation, it exudes aromas of fresh exotic fruits (passion fruit, mango, lychee) mingled with a spicy power and notes of fresh cane and flambéed banana.

Nose : Intensity of fresh exotic fruits such as passion fruit, mango, and fresh lychee, followed by more compote-like notes (aged calvados). The woodiness provides a cognac-like “aged wood” background.

Palate : Smooth and gentle on the palate. Notes of orange peel, maracuja, and fresh lychee followed by drier fruits such as currants or compote (apple). Spices appear mid-palate, accompanying a controlled rising warmth. The richness ensures a smooth finish with a pastry-like freshness for its age. Incredible length with endless hints of fresh exotic fruits.
