EPISTEME B19F26 invites you to explore the aromatic influence of an unconventional finishing process (“F: Finish”) on the taste of two Single Malt expressions—single-parcel and vintage. The B19F26 tasting features two whiskies made from Amistar barley (“B” = Barley), harvested in 2019 (“19,” the harvest year) from a single plot located on the Andrieu estate, which borders the distillery. This barley harvest was malted, mashed, fermented, and distilled all within the same week. After aging in Cognac casks, their paths diverged, opening up new avenues for exploring aging in unconventional containers: one continues its maturation in amphorae, while the other ages in Macvin du Jura barrels.
