DAFTMILL 11 ans 2009 French Connections

Founded by Francis and Ian Cuthbert in 2005, the Daftmill distillery is located in the north-eastern part of the Lowlands region. Equipped with a 3,000-litre wash still and a 2,000-litre spirit still, it produces the equivalent of around 100 casks each year. It was in May 2018 that the first bottles of a 12-year-old Daftmill were marketed. Bottled at natural strength, this release matured in a sherry cask has kept intact the exuberance of its early youth. Very “Lowland”, its aromatic and flavour profile is at once finely herbaceous, intensely fruity and subtly floral. From its sherry-cask maturation, it has drawn on other fruits, more exotic or drier, and has taken on chocolatey tones that give it plenty of body and depth.
