COGNAC VAUDON 1996 Single Cask TTG 3.0

Nose : ample, distinguished. With incredible finesse, the initial nose is characterized by notes of precious wood, beeswax, apricot, quince, dark chocolate, liquorice and bourbon vanilla. Allowed to breathe, it becomes medicinal (ointment, mustard poultice) and floral (lime blossom, gardenia). With time, it becomes increasingly resinous (pine, cedar) and pastry-like (cake, Paris-Brest).

Palate : rich, well-developed. The particularly silky mouthfeel is like the skin of a white peach. The very dynamic attack has a wonderfully youthful expression. Without making any concessions, it reproduces the quality of an extraordinary spirit and the grandeur of a magnificent terroir. With mouth-watering salinity, it overflows with mineral salts. This minerality scoops up whole blocks of limestone.

Overall : long, concentrated. Cinnamon and toffee immediately cover the taste buds. Next, these tertiary tones gradually give way to other more mature flavours (dark chocolate, mushroom, moss). The deliciously tannic (grape skin, fig, date) retronasal olfaction is juicy and earthy. The empty glass is vanilla, vegetal (coriander), spicy (star anise) and exotic (mango, kaffir lime).
