CHICHIBU 2010 Bourbon Barrel - 60 ans LMDW

Nose : refined, delicate. Extremely well-balanced, the initial nose is heady, wavering between notes of coconut, vanilla, fresh mint and precious spices (cardamom, ginger). It develops with a refreshing blast of exotic fruit (mango, banana) and herbs (chervil, sorrel). Upon airing, candied lemons revitalise the aromatic palette as it continues to gain complexity._x000D_

Palate : clean, firm. Particularly fruity (Williams pear, apple), the attack on the palate is all-encompassing, taking us on a stroll into the heart of a pine forest. Resinous notes and flourishes of liquorice lend smoothness to the mid-palate. Fresh fruit (pineapple, Mirabelle plum) and sweet spices (cinnamon, star anise) gently settle on the edges of the palate._x000D_

Overall : long, balanced. Dried fruit (apricot, dates, walnut) wrapped in a fine layer of dark chocolate gradually coats the taste-buds. Refreshed by an acidic fruitiness (white grapes), it becomes increasingly milky (almond, coconut). Reminiscent of absinthe, the back palate is subtly aniseedy. The retro-nasal olfaction is musky. Malted barley, vanilla and freshly cut grass come in waves from the empty glass.
