SERPENT'S TEARS

Located in Llandudno, in the north of Wales, the Penderyn – Lloyd St distillery has been crafting whisky since July 2021, drawing its strength from the local legend of the “Tears of the Serpent.” In the 8th century, as Vikings plundered the Welsh coasts from their longships, they caught sight in the mist of a looming, menacing shape. This fearsome silhouette, resembling a mythical beast, forced them to turn back. They named it horma heva, meaning great dragon or sea serpent.
