Landing on the south-east shore of Loch Indaal, the 15th edition of the Artist range dedicated to Islay whiskies pays tribute to Bowmore, one of the nine Scottish distilleries founded in the 18th century still in operation today. With a phenol level between 25 and 30 ppm, its single malt is renowned for its complexity and elegance. This expression reveals a seductive and multifaceted profile: delicately smooth peat, exuberant and crisp fruitiness, heady and captivating aromas, and a maritime character that brings freshness and energy. A splendid composition.

Color : or pâle.

Nose : subtle and complex. Heady (lily, lily of the valley), tropical (passion fruit, pineapple), chocolatey, malty, fruity (white grape, pear), ashy and saline, the aromatic palette is underscored by Bowmore’s signature oily, rich peat. With aeration, it becomes increasingly mineral (tar, slate), camphorated and spicy (black pepper, clove).

Palate : silky and indulgent. Creamy (coconut), vanilla, fruity (pineapple, passion fruit), honeyed (acacia), yet also marine (smoked fish, seaweed) and oily (rich peat), the flavour profile is gradually enveloped in the smoke of a vegetal and spicy Havana cigar. This empyreumatic development unfolds with great finesse.

Overall : smooth and juicy. Returning freshly to the pear notes introduced on the nose, it is brightened by zesty citrus (lime, grapefruit). Then emerge medicinal (bandage), iodized (sea spray) and herbaceous (cut hay, green barley) notes, bringing vibrancy and poise to a retro-olfaction that also reveals creamy vanilla tones.
