In 1985, the Benriach distillery doubled its production capacity, moving from two to four stills. In 2016, it was bought by Brown Forman, who brought on board renowned master blender Rachel Barrie in 2020. This second-fill sherry cask explores herbal, fruity, spicy and rich lands that constantly push the boundaries of the tasting. Coriander and vanilla are the perfect example, seeping deep and long into the palate.

Nose : Full, complex. The ethereal nose wavers between fragrances of aromatic plants (camomile), heady florals (broom, mimosa), exotic fruit (pineapple, banana), fresh walnut and spices (curry, ginger). Allowed to breathe, the palette becomes infused (lemon balm, verbena) and rustic (dandelion, straw).

Appearance : Jaune doré soutenu.

Palate : Concentrated, rich. The attack reveals flavours of courgette flower tempura and coconut milk. Grains of rice and barley then highlight the very refined texture. The smooth end of the palate offers a delicious custard tart.

Overall : Long, full. The very fruity (Mirabelle plum, yellow peach), rooty (gentian) and spicy (cardamom) finish is closely linked to the palate. Coated in a fine layer of black liquorice, the end of the finish is rich (pineapple tart), syrupy (botrytized grape) and infused (camomile).
