J.M’: these two letters are shorthand for an entire page of Martinique agricole rum history. The distillery was founded in the mid-19th century by Jean-Marie Martin, before passing into the hands of the Crassous de Medeuil family during the First World War. In the 1980s, these initials became a seal – the brand which would make the distillery famous worldwide. These three intages rank among the oldest ever bottled.
