The Real McCoy® Rum is based on the story of Bill McCoy, the pioneer rum runner of the Prohibition era. He was the first to fill a boat with Caribbean rum, sail it up to New York and legally act as a floating liquor store, in international waters, three miles offshore. The Real McCoy range is produced in his honor with the same quality spirit, thanks to Master Distiller Richard Seale from Foursquare distillery. All rums are completely unadulterated, small batch distilled in a rare artisanal combination of copper pot & column stills and tropically aged in Barbados, in heavy charred American Oak Bourbon barrels. Real McCoy 5 Years is a traditional rum from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. It is a blend from distillates elaborated both in pot and column stills. It was then aged for 5 years, in the tropical climate of the island in Bourbon oak casks. It gives a rum with a fine balance between complexity and delicacy.
