Like the Takamaka Clos Séries Ex-Pineau, this version was made with locally grown, organic sugar cane. Matured first for three years in a French new oak cask, it was then finished for six months in a sherry cask previously used for a Scottish single malt. The aroma palette boasts both incredible depth and impressive elegance. Expressing the power of the Seychelles’ granite terroir, the flavour palette then highlights the beautiful Palo Cortado finish.

Color : Cuivre orangé soutenu.

Nose : Rich, complex. Once allowed to breathe, elegant notes of beeswax, candied apricot and grilled walnut make way for noble fragrances of apricot, brandied cherries and heady florals (broom, freesia).

Palate : Svelte, lively. Bringing to mind a superb single malt sherry cask like Ben Nevis, the attack is powdery (cocoa) and empyreumatic (beeswax, sandalwood). A slight mineral reduction and black liquorice flavours envelop the taste buds.

Overall : Long, heady. Rooty (gentian, ginger), syrupy (cane sugar) and vanilla, the finish becomes floral (lavender, gardenia), before inviting us to taste a selection of exotic fruits (mango, guava, passion fruit). A note of salted butter caramel arrives in the finale.
