PROFILE : Shakara 15 Year Old reveals a rich and spicy profile, featuring notes of caramel, tropical fruit and toasted oak. Produced from local molasses, it is distilled in a column still then matured in a tropical climate in bourbon barrels before bottling without addition of sugar or colouring.

Nose : Both lively and smooth. A subtle blend of salted butter caramel, mango, chocolate, beeswax, and cherry in brandy—the aromatic palette is extremely complex and heightened. Further on, scents of mustard seeds, curry, and apricot accentuate its heady and oxidative character.
Palate : Refined, vibrant. Perfectly in line with the nose, the flavour profile also stands out for its silky texture. Flavours of cocoa powder, grated ginger, and pine sap delicately coat the palate. Then, orange zest, apricot pulp, mango, and even wild strawberry notes eloquently underscore its intensely fruity development.
Overall : Heady, full-bodied. Evoking a lightly burnt apricot tart, the finish gradually takes on autumnal tones with remarkable poise. Fully blossomed, it is notably marked by notes of mushrooms, chestnut, black liquorice, and lichen. Medicinal (clove balm, iodine tincture), the retro-olfaction is beautifully liqueur-like (cane sugar) and vegetal (sugarcane).
