REY CAMPERO Madrecuishe

The Sanchez distillery is a small family-owned business that has been established for over 150 years in Candelaria Yegolé, a village in the state of Oaxaca. For four generations, the Sanchez maestro mezcaleros have succeeded one another from father to son to produce exceptional artisanal mezcals of outstanding quality. The Madre Cuishe (Mother Cuishe) agave, smaller in size and with a wider diameter than the Cuishe agave, gets its name from a tradition of planting these agaves around the Espadin fields to protect them, just as a mother would protect her children. It is usually found in higher altitude areas with a milder climate compared to the environment of the Cuishe agave.
