Single cask (refill hogshead #7244) of Port Ellen 27-year-old 1983, bottled in 2011. Douglas Laing was founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing, primarily as a blending house but also as a merchant, the latter activity growing in importance over the years. On Fred Douglas Laing's death in 1982, his two sons Fred and Stewart took over the company. The latter left in 2013 to found Hunter Laing. Douglas Laing is today run by Fred Laing and his daughter Cara. Old Malt Cask is a range of single casks bottled at 50%, launched in 1998 and now continued by Hunter Laing. A limited edition of 292 bottles.
