NEISSON VSOP French Connections

Located in Le Carbet, the Neisson distillery was created in 1932. It is one of the last family-owned distilleries in Martinique. Today it is run by Claudine Vernant-Neisson and her son Grégory. Distilled in the estate's magnificent Savalle column still, this six-year-old release sits right at the crossroads between youth and maturity of expression. Indeed, while at times revealing aromas and flavours of freshly pressed cane juice (vesou), at other moments it shows an aromatic and flavour complexity that has nothing to envy of far older rums. Yet, elevating balance to an art form, it refuses to rush the stages in order to better honour the work of the women and men who gave it life.
