Maredsous is crafted from a unique distillate of organic certified malts with a double aging process in oak casks for 4 years. This whisky is aged for 3 years in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, followed by 1 year in Limousin oak casks that once contained Chardonnay white wine. Enjoy it neat, with or without ice.
Nose : On the nose, the greediness of American oak (vanilla, nutmeg, tobacco...) and the floral and fruity freshness of chardonnay.
Palate : Its ageing in highly aromatic American oak barrels (BOURBON) gives it a pleasantly woody, starchy smoothness and roundness . The second ageing gives it the characteristics of CHARDONNAY with a dominant wine, citrus fruits and grass flavour on the long finish.
