IMPERIAL Aged 25 Years Signatory Vintage

More often closed than in operation, the Imperial distillery was founded in 1897 (the year of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee) by Thomas MacKenzie, owner of Dailuaine and Talisker. It was demolished between 2013 and 2015. It was during that period that a new distillery, named Dalmunach, was inaugurated on the same site. Tasting a single malt produced by a closed distillery is always a special moment in which emotion mingles with history. Absolutely remarkable, this release is no exception. Very refined, its aromatic and flavour profile is impressively precise. Possessing immense charm and radiating life, it travels with the naturalness befitting the greatest, in imperial fashion, along all the paths of the region that saw it born: the Speyside.
