ICHIRO'S MALT Wine Wood Reserve

Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve is an unusual vatted malt composed of Chichibu, Hanyu and Scottish single malt. Red wine casks from around the world are used to finish a variety of malt whiskies. This rare expression is aged in red wine casks before being matured in Ovum barrels, French oak casks crafted in the Charentes region by the Taransaud team's Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. These exceptional barrels are aged in a warehouse at the Chichibu distillery. This environment, with its drastic temperature changes, aids maturation and imparts deep complexity. Pleasant tannins, acidity and dry fruitiness come from the wine casks, lingering long on the palate. This product is unfiltered and may show deposits.
