HEPP 2014 Version Française

Alsace has long stood out for the quality of its eaux-de-vie; now it is making its mark in whisky production. It is in Uberach, a village not far from Strasbourg, that the Hepp family has carried on its ancestral craft for three generations. Born into a family of fruit distillers, René Hepp founded his artisanal distillery there in the 1970s. After building its reputation on fruit eaux-de-vie, the Hepp distillery quickly established itself as one of the key players in Alsatian whisky, which has held a PGI since 2015. Now run by his grandson Yannick, the Hepp distillery, equipped with three 400-litre Carl stills and producing 100% Alsatian whisky since 2007, is recognised for the precision of its work, whether in distillation or maturation. The cask selected for this 7th Version Française bottling is an ex-Banyuls cask from 2014 that combines Alsatian distillation mastery with the elegance of the Pyrenean naturally sweet wines.
