This new five year old edition of The Younger falls, like its predecessors, into the LROK category (Light Rum Owen Kelly). This is one of Hampden's most famous marks which refers to a rum with a high ester concentration, ranging from 200 to 400 gr/HLPA. This mark has been produced since 1952 and is the third of eight different marks in the Hampden Estate classification, which ranges from the lightest (OWH) to the highest (DOK) concentration of esters. With its generous format, The Younger is available in a beautiful box with a glass pipette which allows bartenders to serve straight from the flagon to the glass.

Color : Jaune doré soutenu

Nose : Fine and unctuous. On the first nose, notes of artichoke heart and hot cane sugar appear alongside aromas of rubber and very ripe fruit (banana, pineapple). The sappy aroma palette (pine, thuja) becomes more medicinal (balm, mustard) and peppery.

Palate : Lively yet creamy. The rich (vanilla flan) and tangy (lime) attack is incredibly fresh. In a more syrupy register (cane), the mid-palate makes way for a very exotic end to the palate (banana, pineapple).

Overall : Long and delicately tannic. Vegetal (cane stem) and rooty (ginger, gentian) notes invigorate the flavour palette. The intense after-taste develops flavours of toffee and salted butter caramel. The beautiful retronasal olfaction is empyreumatic (rubber, gum arabic).
